Kinetic

Kinetic
Naming
Created a name rooted in the movement and physical labor at the heart of the industrial workforce.
The founders of Kinetic believed workplace injuries could be prevented, not just paid for after the fact.
When we met, they were building prototypes. Wearable technology for industrial workers who were constantly lifting, carrying, hefting. They wanted a name that nodded to the benefit without tying the business too tightly to a device or product category. And definitely nothing that sounded like safety equipment.
All hands went up for Kinetic.
The name was about pure motion. The physical work that keeps businesses running, and an unspoken assurance to the people doing it: that they could keep moving.
That turned out to matter.
As the technology proved it could reduce injuries, Kinetic discovered something bigger in its data: an advantage in understanding and underwriting workplace risk. Nearly a decade later, the company evolved from a hardware business into a workers’ compensation insurer built on the same underlying insight.
The name still fit.
The company was still designed around protecting workers. And keeping them in motion.

Kinetic’s first site as wearable technology designed to reduce workplace injuries.

Kinetic today as workers’ compensation insurance.
Kurt created our name. We wanted one that captured the movement and physical labor at the heart of the industrial workforce. Kinetic did that perfectly.
